JOB TITLE:  VP Finance




Following the Company’s successful re-branding campaign, Beanfields has now demonstrated 20 consecutive months of better year-over-year performance.  To boot, the Company is coming off it’s largest selling Quarter in Company history.  Due to this rapid growth, the team now needs a full-time, in-house VP of Finance, who will manage and lead key strategic projects that deliver process improvements to the finance organization, often cross-functional in nature.  As such the VP of Finance will be responsible for the overall function of the finance department and will work closely with the accounting manager as well as the 3rd party accounting firm on all things related including, but not limited to month-end closes, journals and reconciliations, banking and treasury management, inventory and commission analysis, payroll, and receivables and payables management.  The culture at Beanfields is scrappy, and nimble with a roll-up your sleeves, start-up mentality.  Ideally, the candidate will have experience creating useful tools (in Excel) from scratch that serve to inform management on key financial trends, using leading indicators wherever possible.  The successful candidate will have mastered the ability to routinely produce consistent and accurate financial reports, including management dashboards, company KPIs, and GAAP financial statements. 


  • Lead a team through the planning and execution of key finance projects
  • Bring increased measurement through data collection, analysis and interpretation, statistical analysis and testing and presentation to support learning and fact-based decision-making
  • Support finance process documentation and change during project balance
  • Develop and improve processes and timing of monthly close and financial statements, and review variances and report significant issues to the CEO
  • Ensure cash flow optimization for the company, including managing accounting team members to ensure timely collection of AR, strategic payment of AP, and accurate forward forecasting of working capital and overall cash flow needs
  • Perform analytical review of monthly operating results and accounting workbooks
  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
  • Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
  • Oversee tax, and potentially audit, related matters and coordinate the provision of information to external accountants for tax preparation in compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and filings


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Marketing, or Engineering; MBA preferred
  • CPA designation
  • Exceptionally strong knowledge of GAAP accounting and financial reporting
  • Project management experience preferred; proven application of Six Sigma tools
  • Ability to manage and coach others, regardless of reporting relationships
  • Ability to conceptualize and think creatively, and think beyond the scope of a given project
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in both management consulting and finance experience and skills in driving strategic change
  • 2-4 years process related experience
  • Love of numbers and can navigate comprehensive data easily and quickly
  • Advanced-level experience with Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks required
  • Outgoing, can-do, positive personality; ability to talk to anyone
  • Specific commercial experience in the natural food industry is a big plus
  • Passionate about food, and/or a plant-based lifestyle a plus
  • Experience in both corporate and entrepreneurial environments highly desirable
